Before adopting any MultiCloud solution, it’s essential to understand which service best suits your long-term goals. On a broader level, both platforms fall under the IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) category. While they do offer similar functionalities, the process in which on-premise infrastructures merge with the cloud’s potential can vary.
- With AWS Outpost, you can start with just one node, while Azure Stack requires a minimum of four nodes.
- AWS owns the complete hardware and software stack (excluding its partnership with VMware), which allows for complex features like hardware-dependent networking capabilities. Azure Stack, on the other hand, works with multiple OEMs.
